SSS SAMPLE SALES has been running stock and sample sales for over twenty years. We are located in the heart of the Garment Center. We sell current stock merchandise (samples, too) at wholesale and below wholesale prices. While occasionally we run exclusive sales featuring only one designer, we primarily run sales featuring multiple designers (often as many as 15). Unless you work in the clothing industry or have passed through the Garment Center, you may not be familiar with the term sample sale. Allow us to give you a little background... The term sample sale originally meant, a sale of designer's samples. Samples are what designers use to show their clothing line to buyers and owners of retail stores. At the end of a season, the designer no longer has a need for these samples. So, once or twice a year they sell the samples to the public, where they usually would be sold at wholesale prices. Customarily, the selection would be limited to a handful of pieces per style and to only one size. Today, many of these designers have taken this one giant step forward...stock sales. After a manufacturer has shipped their merchandise to their stores, there is usually inventory leftover. That normally leaves the manufacturer with two options. One is to sell it to an off-price store for a very discounted price. The other option is to have a sample sale where they can sell directly to the public for their normal wholesale (sometimes below wholesale) prices. SSS SAMPLE SALES provides our retail space and services for running these sales to the manufacturer. These services include advertising and staff who set up, sell and break down these sales. Our Sample Sales last one week, with new designers each week. Since the manufacturers we feature change each week, along with our store hours, it is important to keep up to date with our Upcoming Sales Schedule. What all this means to you, the consumer, is the latest fashions from the top designers at savings from 50% to 80% below retail prices.
